EUDARTS Newsletter June 2024

Latest Updates:

General Safety Regulation:
As of July 7, 2024, the 41 data elements mandated by the General Safety Regulation (2019/2144) will take effect. Initially introduced for type-approval of new models on July 7, 2022, these regulations will now apply to every new car. Additionally, 23 more data elements will be enforced starting: for new type-approvals in July 2024 and two years later for every new car in July 2026. Note that these dates are specific to passenger cars and light-duty vehicles. The Delegated Act for EDR Trucks is virtually identical to that for passenger cars (2022/545). However, Regulation 160 has been replaced by 169 and the effective date is January 7, 2026.
